At Brat Powr Media Center, we aspire to create a welcoming space for our users & members to engage in valuable conversations about art that stretch across a variety creative disciplines, viewpoints, and cultures. We understand that the topics we may present are nuanced and may even be difficult, but certain behaviors simply cannot be tolerated to create the ideal climate for these discussions. We invite a diverse array of users to join us and require everyone to be mindful of the comments they leave and of the different backgrounds and perspectives of other Brat Powr Community members that they may interact with on and off the site. Our team also understands and admits that we are not immune to making mistakes, so if you think we've made one or believe we'd be more successful taking a different approach, please talk with us.

Our site is not a place for hatred and does not accept harassment of it's users in any way at all. This document, alongside our Terms & Conditions (Section 5. Prohibited Activities), work in tandem to create a safe environment for everyone and should be treated as combined contracts. We maintain our responsibility for enforcing our online boundaries and making explicit what will and will not be condoned within this community. Our site admin & editor-in-chief (tomboymadi7) accepts the right and duty to promote a healthy setting for all users and is expected to take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any representation of unacceptable behavior. This same code applies to any official Brat Powr platforms/channels that may be created (AMP, Discord, YouTube, etc.). The team at Brat Powr Media Center is committed to reading all comments and contributing to as many conversations as possible, whilst following the same guidelines, to promote a healthy and friendly space for discourse.

Commenting Etiquette

In order to join and remain a user on Brat Powr Media Center, you MUST adhere to our set of guidelines. Commenting Etiquette is intended to create an inclusive and respectful dialogue for our users, whilst still allowing room for differing viewpoints and understanding while we all learn & grow. In order to cultivate such a space, please make note of the following conditions before joining and/or commenting on any and all official Brat Powr content.

By joining The Brat Powr Community, you are agreeing to:

• B uild up all users & writer(s). Leave nice comments and respectfully disagree with others.

• R eceive and present constructive comments and criticism with grace and goodwill.

• A pproach conversations with others with the benefit of the doubt and give our fellow users & writer(s) a chance to grow from the discourse. Be mindful of people whose experiences differ from your own.

• T ake up space, but do it graciously. There is room for everyone here, so use inclusive language, welcome new ideas, and show empathy towards all community members.

Unacceptable Behavior & Consequences

We encourage all users to lend a hand in maintaining our community. Please review the following Rules of Conduct and make note of our boundaries, in order to participate in productive conversations without the possibility of necessary consequences.

If you suspect that a user is in violation of these terms, please follow the reporting protocol laid out below.

Display Names are automatically generated from your e-mail address upon creating an account. Before making public comments on this website, you MUST make sure your Display Name complies with the following rules:

Yellow Cards are warnings that may also result in the removal of comment(s) and/or temporary or permanent revoking of commenting privileges on Brat Powr Media Center:

• Arguing/Spamming/Trolling on official Brat Powr platforms/channels. These behaviors are 100% not allowed in the comment section on this site. We encourage people to continue their conversations on outside social platforms, like our Discord, but we can't tolerate any users going back and forth on any of our channels or pages. Please also be mindful, refrain from disrupting other users, and choose your battles wisely.

• Profanity/cursing in the comments. Our platforms are not suitable for children, so we understand that our users are grown. Either way, please don't use explicit language as a means of attacking, discriminating, or intimidating any user, individual, or group of people.

• Official Brand accounts are welcome to join and engage with our community (including conversations regarding the brand's content, products, or services), so long as the communication remains useful and productive for everyone. Any users posting promotion of any kind on official Brat Powr platforms/channels will be escorted out. Brand accounts or public figures must also adhere to all community Rules of Conduct.

• Not too much, please. Of course, we want everyone to participate in as many conversations as possible. In fact, being a long-time active contributor will result in higher badge rankings (Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, & Senior). Any communication, though, that is perceived to be deliberately dominating, intimidating, or perpetually dismissive of other users and/or our writer(s) will be subject to corrective action from our site admin. So again... not too much.

Red Cards will result in the temporary or permanent revoking of commenting abilities on Brat Powr Media Center and the possible removal of your account and all contributions:

• Public or private harassment.

• Insulting/derogatory comments and personal attacks (especially those using racist, ableist, ageist, xenophobic, homophobic, or sexist language).

• Language or imagery that encourages or calls for physical/emotional/mental violence or harm against any user, individual, or group of people.

• Unwanted and/or inappropriate language used to degrade and sexualize any user, individual, or group of people.

• Inflammatory or harmful remarks against any user, individual, or group of people.

• Dismissing or attacking inclusion-oriented requests.

• Publishing or privately distributing identifying and/or sensitive information concerning any user and/or writer(s) on any official Brat Powr platforms/channels.

• Encouraging any of the above behavior.

• Repeated violations of any kind.

Policy for Conduct Reports

​

Brat Powr Media Center is committed to creating an ideal platform for its users. To achieve this, we will always be honest and explicit when enforcing our guidelines. We will never remove comments solely for expressions of valid criticism or contradictory opinions. We will also never remove comments, revoke commenting abilities, or delete your account without proper notice and explanation, as it relates to the Rules of Conduct and/or Terms & Conditions. Repeated or aggressive violations of this code (a.k.a. Yellow & Red Cards) will result in immediate action and any user with a paying membership is expected to correct any unfavorable conduct after warning or be subject to appropriate consequences without a refund. If you believe your comments and/or account have been removed mistakenly or unfairly, please reach out to us at xo@bratpowr.com. We are always willing to open up the conversation and come to an understanding with users who may feel silenced or dismissed by our moderation system.

Corrective actions are made at the discretion of the site admin. Ultimately our goal at Brat Powr Media Cente is to maintain the health and safety of our online community and various comment sections. If any user is not adhering to these conditions or is creating an unsafe space for other users, we encourage the community to make a Conduct Report via our Submission (Submit) Page. Please check the "Conduct Report" option and include the following information:

• The user(s) involved

• The platform(s) involved (Brat Powr Media Center, AMP, Discord, etc.)

• Clear details about the incident

This information is confidential. If consequences are taken as a result of a report made, the identity of this person will not be revealed to any user, regardless of involvement status.
